"Yes. " Yes, it was from my mother. "Oh. " ". …" "I'm so–" Shikamaru resisted the urge to roll his eyes in exasperation. "Stop apologizing. It's not your fault. " "Yes it is, " the man insisted, firmer for the first time since Shikamaru could remember. "I'm too afraid to stand up to her and now you receive the brunt from my lack of action. I am sorry. " "It's okay. I'm used to it, " he assured. That answer was like a slap on the man's face, just like how Shikamaru intended it to be. The man faltered for a second, his chopsticks almost fell from his grip. When his wife's sharp eyes turned to his direction, he immediately composed himself and resumed to eat. "Yes? " "Thank you... for what you have said earlier. It means a lot. " "It's nothing. " "No, it's not nothing! " Shikamaru pretended to wince at the harsh tone. The man's tone turned apologetic afterwards. "It's just that… My father used to belittle me when I was a child and my… my mother, " he spat out the word, "she only watched him.

Wagner in 1853 "The Artwork of the Future" ( German: "Das Kunstwerk der Zukunft") is a long essay [ 1] written by Richard Wagner, first published in 1849 in Leipzig, in which he sets out some of his ideals on the topics of art in general and music drama in particular. Background The essay is one of a group of essays which Wagner produced in a period of intensive writing following his exile after the Dresden May uprising of 1849. It follows " Art and Revolution " and precedes " Jewishness in Music ", developing the ideas of the one and prefiguring some of the issues of the other. Wagner wrote the whole essay over about two months in Zürich. He wrote to his friend Uhlig on November 1849, 'This will be the last of my literary works'. On this, as on many other matters in his life, Wagner was to change his mind. The essay is dedicated to the philosopher Ludwig Feuerbach, whose works (perhaps particularly Principles of the Philosophy of the Future), inspired some of its ideas. [ 2] In September and October 1849, Wagner had read both Feuerbach's Reflections on Death and Immortality and his The Essence of Christianity.

To say that Mike and Verity are a strange couple would be a very basic thing to say, indeed. Where the book succeeds as a thriller, but may have men (and probably women) feeling squeamish, is that Our Kind of Cruelty successfully brings you into the mindset of a male sociopath. Mike is very charming and likable, which means that you don't necessarily want to see bad things happen to him, but as his behaviour gets more and more insular and stalker-ish, the reader is pulled into his mind and starts to rationalize things in a similar way. So, yes, the book is successful in that you will be throwing the book at the wall every five minutes yelling, "Please, don't do that Mike! " However, the scales turn about two-thirds of the way through the book, and it becomes a legal drama. The piling on of uncomfortable feelings that you may have felt during the first two-thirds of the novel largely dissipate, and in a sense Our Kind of Cruelty runs a bit out of gas. But there is method to the author's madness.

An audiobook is a recording that is primarily of the spoken word as opposed to music. While it is often based on a recording of commercially available printed material, this is not always the case. It was not intended to be descriptive of the word "book" but is rather a recorded spoken program in its own right and not necessarily an audio version of a book.
